I’m always amazed by how many people lack self-confidence.
If you were taking a walk through your neighborhood and saw someone step out of their house, trip and fall, would you run up to help them? Of course you would. Then why don’t we do the same for ourselves?
Life is full of difficulties, tragedies and failures. But it is also full of joy, happiness and love. Both can come as surprises. But what matters is what we choose to focus on.
Personally, in my life I’ve experienced dealing with the loss of jobs, a house, money, suicide, early deaths and much more. But I choose to look at the beautiful parts of my life. Love for those still here, my marriage of over 30 years, two beautiful children and the ability to choose happiness.
It really does come down to choosing happiness. It really is about choices. When depression sets in, if we can’t fix it ourselves we need to seek help. Thank goodness we live in a world where there are choices.
I know myself well enough to know that I’m most happy when I’m building my own business. I love being able to share my gifts with others. I can even say I’m passionate about it.
If you also have a passion, I hope you are living it. Or at least trying to. Because in the end, the sun still comes up in the morning and we need to make the most out of it. Share our abilities with others and focus on the good. In doing so, you will find joy and you’ll also be spreading that joy to others.
